DOUBLE BAY

HOUSE

Double Bay House involved demolition of most of the existing house except for the front façade, which had to be underpinned and propped during extensive excavation. Set on a very steep site with three levels of excavation below street level, the building was heavily engineered with the house sitting on a large number of grout injected piers.

The 18 month programme included demolition of existing residence, underpinning of existing structure that remained, new swimming pool and plant room, extensive retaining walls and a new three story structure. The project featured very detailed structural & decorative steelwork Iincluding custom made entry gate, curved stair and many external balustrades in plate steel. The exterior of the house is clad in zinc roof sheeting.

Many bespoke elements and supreme detailing resulted in a spectacular and award winning building.
