This project is a testament to Kinn’s dedication to craftsmanship, innovation, and enduring client relationships. Having previously built the award-winning Bronte House #2 in 2019, we were honoured to be entrusted once again by our valued clients to bring their latest vision to life.

This project began with the delicate demolition of the existing residence on the newly acquired block behind Bronte House 2—including a pool we had originally constructed as part of that earlier project. In its place now stands a bold new architectural statement by Luigi Rosselli—a home that complements the original while elevating the overall vision of the site. A true jewel in the crown.

Drawing from a carefully curated palette of materials, the design features Luigi Rosselli’s signature curves, rammed earth walls, natural stone, timber, curved glass panels, and standing seam zinc roofing. Every element was meticulously crafted to create a harmonious blend of texture, warmth, and architectural brilliance.

One of the most complex elements of this build was the custom-designed wood-burning Parilla BBQ, integrated into the heart of the home. This feature necessitated the construction of a 9.5m-high rammed earth chimney, extending from the ground floor to above the roofline. A striking Corten steel rangehood/gather, which also serves as a structural lintel, was craned into position with precise coordination during the rammed earth construction. The result is a seamless fusion of age old cooking tradition with cutting-edge craftsmanship.

Another standout feature is the butterfly-shaped floor levels, which not only create a striking architectural dynamic but also mirror the shape of the new pool, reinforcing the home’s fluid connection to its surroundings.

 

To be entrusted with two significant projects for the same clients is an honour in itself. To see them now seamlessly connected, forming the ultimate Sydney beachside retreat for a vibrant, young, and active family, is a true privilege.
